I am a real Christmas person! I wouldn’t say that I am your worst nightmare but I do love Christmas carols (after December 1st) and when I have a house full of kiddies you can bet I’ll be decking the halls and putting bells on everything – in my own way of course, so naturally I thought why not get into the spirit of Christmas with some ideas on Christmas inspired looks
Whether you adore or despise the silly season there is something fun and on trend about going with the madness and dressing in the spirit of the time of year. Gold and white are really quite a dreamy combination and I think it’s also a great time to wear lace or brocade. These shorts from Mirrou are my fave – they have a stretchy waistband (perfect for the belly) and yet are comfortable for a short short.
If short shorts aren’t your thing (they may not be my thing in a few years!), replace these with a white or lace midi skirt or crisp white tailored shorts. I have styled these looks around a somewhat smart casual work environment or a casual environment.
Christmas colour palette
- White snow globes and decorations
- Golden fairy lights
- White Christmas trees
What I’m wearing
- Lace shorts by Mirrou
- White vest by Country Road
- Gold lace blouse – vintage store find
- Gold belt – also vintage store find
- Gold and white knit top – Merric (not current) (second look)
- Accessories: watch by Michael Kors, ring bought online, necklace by Colette, heels bought online
Style tip: If wearing a shorter bottom, mix it up on top by wearing longer layers – this is especially best for work or semi-formal environments (less is more remember).
